We have also produced signage and have guidance on action you can take and how we can help. Together we will stop this behaviour in our street.

Landlord Communication 2022-2023
In 2022 we compiled a list of all private landlords, HMO landlords and letting agents within Kersland Street. We wrote to each one requesting their co-operation to reduce antisocial behaviour from incoming tenants. We also provided signage for use in closes and induction letters to tenants which highlighted the issues the street has suffered from. We're happy to report this effort has had a dramatic effect on reducing incidents and police involvement. We will continue to work alongside landlords to ensure this continues.

The lanes connected to Kersland street are in dire need of maintenance and major renovations. Residents are working alongside Councillor Wardrop and the council neighbourhood sustainability teams to address these issues. The Lanes Sub Groups:
Following the General Meeting in November 2022, sub groups were formed to focus on improving the lanes. There are two lane groups, one for each lane running behind Kersland Street.
Cranworth Lane group - led by Tammy, with the help of Mel. To join or ask anything about this group, please contact tammy_woods@hotmail.com. The group has already had its first meeting and has got together a plan to: Create an info pack to educate residents about recycling and bin maintenance. Arrange a street clean ups with residents. Liaise with KSNA via WhatsApp & contact Neighbourhood Liaison for Hillhead, Gillian McDonald (now Martin Neill), regarding our concerns and suggested actions. This could be getting a street sweeper for the lanes/street, getting the trees/shrubs pruned in the play park & removing one of the benches there as it attracts anti-social behaviour. Also getting additional lighting for the play park.
Sardinia & Kersland Lanes group - led by Euan. To find out more and to join the Sardinia/Kersland Lanes WhatsApp group contact us asking to join.
Both groups will explore the funds available for lane improvement and would welcome residents support and suggestions.
In 2023, secure cycle shelters were installed at the request of the Kersland Street Association members at the Great Western Road end of Kersland street. To use this shelter please contact www.cyclehoop.rentals
