The Sardinia and Kersland Lanes Group
In September a meeting was held at Hillhead Library to establish a group to maintain and improve Sardinia Lane and Kersland Lane, which both abut Cecil Street and Kersland Street.
Both are private lanes and are in need of attention. Kersland Lane has a tarmac surface, but now has so many pot holes it is almost impassable with a normal car and Sardinia Lane is cobbled and has areas which are uneven both for pedestrians and vehicles.
Glasgow City Council have a Private Lanes Improvement Fund, which can offer grants of up to £20,000 for specific repair or maintenance projects for each lane, and it is hoped that by organising a constituted group with a bank account, that fund can be accessed.
The first steps to this constituted group were taken at the September meeting. The group was formally created and a constitution was proposed and voted upon. A Chair, Secretary and Treasurer were elected and a committee established.
Chair: Jeremy Bayston
Secretary: Aileen Young
Treasurer: Aimee Geddes
Our first committee meeting will be held in October 2026.
You will be able to find details of that meeting and further meetings on this page.
If you wish to join the group, please email the contact address at the KNSA and we will get back to you.
